LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati swimming team tallied another school record as the Bearcats wrapped up day three of the 2011 BIG EAST Conference Championships Friday at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

The women's team is seventh with 212 points. Louisville leads with 623.5 points, followed by Notre Dame (430.5), West Virginia (277), Pittsburgh (258.5), Villanova (245.5), Rutgers (213), the Bearcats, Connecticut (186), Georgetown (84), Seton Hall (76), and Providence (40).

On the men's side, the Bearcats are also seventh with 111 points. Louisville leads (591) with Notre Dame on its heels in second (570.5). Pittsburgh (374) is third, trailed by West Virginia (357), Connecticut (176.5), Seton Hall (153), UC, Georgetown (94), Villanova (85), Providence (65), and Syracuse (13).

Haywood Miller clocked 4:04.21 to place 15th overall in the men's 400-yard individual medley.

Roberto Nevarez bettered his season-best clocking from the morning session with a time of 49.23 in the A final of the men's 100 butterfly. He placed sixth.

Bailey Laban placed 16th in the women's 200 freestyle with her effort of 1:51.81 in the final.

Nathan Williams clocked a season best 1:40.23 in the men's 200 freestyle, placing him 13th.

Josefin Wede swam a school-record and NCAA B time of 1:02.96 in the B final of the women's 100 breaststroke, placing second in the heat and tenth overall. Her time betters Karli Kentner's previous record of 1:03.48 from 2009.

Sammie Wheeler swam 1:03.81 in the event and placed 14th overall.

Britton Van Dissel clocked a time of 57.01 in the B final of the men's 100 breaststroke, placing him 15th.

Liz Hansson swam a time of 55.23 in the women's 100 backstroke, placing her fifth. It was just off her school-record time of 55.19, which was set in the morning prelims.

Erin Frye clocked 56.46 in the B final, placing 12th overall. It was the fourth-fastest time in school history.

Joe Scherpenberg clocked a personal best 50.71 in the B final of the 100 backstroke, placing 14th overall. He tallied the seventh-best time in school history.

The women's 400-medley relay team of Hansson, Wede, Laurie Caudy, and Laban clcoked 3:46.07, the second-best time in school history, placing them sixth.

The men's 400 medley relay quartet was disqualified after it was determined one of the swimmers left the blocks early on an exchange.

The meet will close out tomorrow with the 200-yard backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, 1,650 freestyle, and the 400-freestyle relay.
