CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati freshman OF/DH Justin Glass was named to the 2011 BIG EAST/Big Ten Baseball Challenge All-Tournament Team, CollegeBaseball360.com announced Monday.
"Justin had a great first weekend as a Bearcat," UC head coach Brian Cleary said. "This recognition is well deserved and I'm proud of him and his performance."
In the first three games of his collegiate career, Glass (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) batted .545 (6-for-11), had three RBI, scored three runs and walked twice.
On the opening day of the '11 Challenge, Glass hit 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in Cincinnati's 11-5 win over Ohio State University.
Michigan State University centerfielder Brandon Eckerle won MVP honors, while University of Louisville's Justin Amlung was named Most Valuable Pitcher.
The Bearcats hit the road to South Carolina this weekend to play in the First Pitch Invitational. Their first game of the Invitational will be at 4 p.m. Friday at No. 5 Clemson.
