CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati tennis team earned an 8-1 victory over the University of Dayton in the first of two matches for the Bearcats on Saturday. The matches are being played at Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Bearcats (2-7) began the match by sweeping doubles and then winning at Nos. 2 through 6. No. 2 Jasmine Lee split sets with Dayton's Loni Dickerhoof, but prevailed in the decisive third set, 10-6.
Dayton (2-4) claimed No. 1 singles after UC's Ksenia Slynko retired trailing 5-2 in the first set.
UC will host the University of Akron in a 5 p.m. match Saturday.
