WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team opened its match against Georgetown University by capturing the doubles point, but then won just one of the singles matches, falling 5-2 in a match played at The Greenbriar Resort on Saturday.
The No. 2 doubles team of Elise Woulfe and Ashleigh Witte and No. 3 doubles team of Jasmine Lee and Safiyya Ismail posted wins to claim the doubles point for the Bearcats.
Woulfe won in straight sets to claim a singles point for UC. Two other singles matches, Nos. 1 and 2, saw the Bearcats open with first-set wins only to be edged out in split sets.
The Bearcats (2-9) host the University of Louisville 5 p.m. Saturday in a home match played at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
