NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team fell on the road Wednesday, dropping a 17-3 decision to No. 11 Vanderbilt at the VU Lacrosse Complex.
Ali Mattingly, Laura Simanski, and Natalie Starvaggi tallied goals for the Bearcats (1-3) while Katie Liberatore racked up an assist. Mattingly had four of UC's eight draw controls.
Simanski has scored at least one goal in each of UC's four games this year and has a seven-game scoring streak going, dating back to April 25, 2010.
Jen Walsh started in goal for UC, playing the first half and making 10 saves. Katherine Russo and Haley Marvine split time in the second half.
Vanderbilt (3-2) scored three goals in the game's first five minutes and led 10-1 at the break. Ally Carey, Courtney Kirk, and Alex Priddy tallied three goals apiece for the Commodores.
UC plays its first home match against Oregon on Sunday, March 6 at 11 a.m. inside Nippert Stadium. Admission is free for all fans. Live stats and video will be available at GoBEARCATS.com.
