RIO VERDE, Ariz. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished tied for eighth at the Rio Verde Invitational on March 6 at White Wing Golf Course.
The Bearcats posted totals of 312-315-308=935 to tie with Toledo (313-304-318=935) for eighth, just two shots behind seventh-place Arkansas-Little Rock (319-310-304=933).
Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College) placed ninth in the individual competition with consistent rounds of 74-76-76=226. Freshman Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) was tied for 35th after posting rounds of 78-81-77=236 while fellow Swedish frosh Olivia Dose carded rounds of 81-80-76=237 to finish tied for 39th.
Eastern Michigan (294-306-310=910) won the team title by one shot over Northern Arizona (309-302-300=911).
Catherine Dolan of Missouri State (73-74-71=218) won the individual title at two-over par, four shots ahead of second place. Ball State's Brittany Kelly (74-75-73=222), Kristen Hill of Akron (72-73-77=222), Robyn Scott of Eastern Michigan (72-74-76=222), and Rikke Falsner Missouri State (74-76-72=222) finished in a second-place tie.
The Bearcats are next in action when it hosts the UC Spring Invitational on March 25-27 in Crystal River, Fla.
