CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati freshman Justin Glass (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) overcame a four-strikeout day by hitting a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the University of Cincinnati over Cleveland State University 3-1 Friday at Marge Schott Stadium.

After senior shortstop Chris Peters (Tipp City, Ohio/Tipp City) led off the 10th inning with an infield single, Glass crushed a pitch from CSU's LHP Brandon Cooper that hit the right field scoreboard to end the game.

Prior to Glass' home run, the game was a pitching duel during the previous 9.5 innings.

Senior RHP Dan Jensen (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) had his strongest start of the season after throwing six innings, allowing just one run on two hits, while striking out seven with no walks.

Jensen did not surrender a hit until the top of the sixth inning, when CSU catcher Alex Gnezda smacked a single up the middle. Gnezda scored two batters later on an RBI single, giving the Vikings their lone run of the game.

The Bearcats scored the first run of the game in the fifth inning when sophomore outfielder Jake Proctor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) hit a double down the right field line, scoring second baseman Sam Vandenheuvel (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton).

Cleveland State pitcher Anthony Sambula did not allow another run during his outing, pitching 8.2 innings, surrendering four hits and striking out six batters.

The Bearcats (5-5, 0-0 BIG EAST) resume their series with Cleveland State at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday at Marge Schott Stadium.
