PITTSBURGH - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team completed a perfect weekend Saturday evening, capping off three wins in three matches by defeating Big East Conference rival Providence College, 7-0, in a match played at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Bearcats (5-10) defeated the University of Pittsburgh earlier Saturday and won at West Virginia University Friday evening.
"We had a great weekend overall," said head coach Angela Wilson. "We're now 4-3 in Big East Conference matches, which is great for the team's confidence as we head into the second half of our seaon before the conference championships."
UC opened the match by sweeping the doubles and then claiming all six singles matches, including split-sets wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles.
The Bearcats will return to the courts for a two-match trip to the Northeast on March 22-23, facing the University of Connecticut and Boston University. They play their next home match on March 27 when they host Marquette University at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center on the UC campus.
