PITTSBURGH - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team made it two wins on the road Saturday morning, defeating Big East Conference rival University of Pittsburgh, 6-1.
The Bearcats (4-10) opened the competition by sweeping all three doubles matches and claiming the double point. Then they won five of six singles matches, including two matches won in split sets: Jasmine Lee defeated Pitt's Jocelyn Lu, 6-4, 1-6, 10-4 at No. 2 singles and Ashleigh Witte defeated Pitt's Kimmy Borza in the tightest match of the day, 7-5, 5-7, 10-8. No. 4 Caitlin O'Gara, No. 5 Linsey Lonergan and No. 6 Carly Wilson also claimed singles points for UC.
The Bearcats will next face Providence College in a 5 p.m. match played at Pittsburgh's Alpha Tennis and Fitness Club.
