CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati track and field team will compete in its first road meets of the 2011 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday, with the men's team traveling to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays and the women's team visiting Orlando, Fla. for the University of Central Florida Invitational.
Both the UC men and women's teams are coming off dominating performances at last Saturday's Early Bird Relays. The women's team had individual champions in 11 out of 19 events and totaled 148.44 points, 41.44 more than second-place Wright State University. The Bearcat men attained 160 points, 74 higher than second-place Ohio Northern, and had seven individual champions in 19 events.
The UCF Invitational features programs from Bethune-Cookman, Central Florida, FAU, Florida Gulf Coast, FIU, Jacksonville, Miami, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Maryland, Cincinnati, Rhode Island, Georgia Southern and Tennessee.
The first event of the UCF Invitaitonal, the women's javeline throw, is scheduled to begin at noon ET Friday at the UCF Track and Field Complex. Day 2 of the UCF Invite is slated to start with the women's discus throw at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The Cincinnati men's team will compete against 56 teams at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by the North Carolina State Univeristy. The first event for the Bearcats will be the 5,000-meter run at 10:40 a.m. Friday. Saturday's schedule starts at 9:45 a.m. with the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
