Here's what's coming up in Cincinnati sports this week:

  • The baseball team will host Dayton (10-12) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Marge Schott Stadium. The Bearcats will then take on Georgetown (15-9, 0-2 BIG EAST) in a three-game series this weekend in Bethesda, Md. Game one will be at 3 p.m. Friday, followed by game two at 3 p.m. Saturday and game three at 1 p.m. Sunday.
  • The men's soccer team will kick off the spring season with the Dayton Tournament Saturday in Dayton, Ohio. The Bearcats play Ohio State at 12:15 p.m. before taking on tournament host Dayton.
  • The women's lacrosse team will host Loyola (9-0) at 3 p.m. Friday at Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats are 2-7 (0-1 BIG EAST).
  • The women's tennis team will take on Xavier (6-10) at 2 p.m. Sunday on Xavier's campus. The Bearcats are 6-11.
  • The track team will compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Open Dec-Hep all day Friday and Saturday in Cincinnati, Ohio.

  • Bearcats and the Community:

  • Don't forget the renewal period for both season-ticket holders and UCATS members for the 2011 football season is open through April 22, 2011 and those that take advantage of UC's online renewal system will be eligible for a drawing that includes some great prizes.
  • The women's soccer team will hold a free youth clinic prior to the Toledo spring game on Friday, April 8 at Gettler Stadium. The clinic will run from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with registration slated to begin at 4:45 p.m. The clinic is open to kids aged 6-13. It will feature a variety of stations including ladder, shooting, passing, dribbling, and heading areas. Fans of all ages are encouraged to join in the event, but space is limited so participants are encouraged to arrive early and bring a ball and water bottle.
  • In case you missed it:

  • The baseball team dropped a 4-2 decision against Kentucky (14-10) last Tuesday in Lexington, Ky., before falling 7-5 to Toledo (7-14) last Wednesday at Marge Schott Stadium. UC then went 0-3 in a series against St. John's (12-8. 3-0 BIG EAST) last weekend, in their first BIG EAST match up in Jamaica, N.Y. The Bearcats fell 3-2 in game one last Friday and dropped a 9-4 decision last Saturday. In the final game, Cincinnati lost 5-4 last Sunday in extra innings. UC is 10-11 (0-3 BIG EAST).
  • The women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-8 decision against Stanford (8-0) last Tuesday at Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats then fell 15-6 to Duquesne (6-2) last Thursday in Pittsburgh, Pa. UC lost to Louisville (7-1) last Sunday, 18-15, in Louisville, Ky.
  • The women's tennis team defeated Connecticut, 6-1 last Tuesday in Storrs, Conn. Cincinnati went on to drop a 4-3 decision to Boston University last Wednesday in Boston, Mass. The Bearcats lost to Marquette last Sunday, 4-3, at the Western Tennis & Fitness Club.
  • The women's golf team placed 10th (315-304-308=927) in the UC Spring Invitational last weekend in Crystal River, Fla. North Texas took first with a score of 301-292-289=882, followed by Morehead State (290-301-304=895).
  • The track and field team completed competition at two separate meets on Saturday. The UC men's team finished up action at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. while the women's team concluded events at the University of Central Florida Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
