CINCINNATI - Seven former University of Cincinnati football players worked out under the watchful eyes of NFL scouts representing 27 teams, Monday at UC's annual NFL Pro Timing Day inside the Richard E. Lindner Center Weight Room and the Sheakley Athletics Center.

Among the participants were: wide receivers Armon Binns, and Vidal Hazelton, offensive linemen C.J. Cobb and Samuel Griffin, kicker Jacob Rogers, running back John Goebel, and tight end Ben Guidugli.

Offensive lineman Jason Kelce was present, but did not participate as he continues to recover from having his appendix removed after the NFL Combine.

The day started off in the weight room for measurments, jumps, and the bench press. Guidugli had the top vertical leap at 36 inches and Goebel had the top broad jump at 10 feet, six inches. Cobb led all players with 31 reps at 225 on the bench press.

The group moved to the Sheakley Athletics Center for the 40-yard dash, 20- and 60-yard shuttles, and the 3-cone drill.

Hazelton, who missed nearly the entire 2010 season due to a knee injury, had the top times in both the 20-yard shuttle, clocking an unoffical 4.20 and the 3-cone with a time of 6.72. Goebel grabbed top marks in the 60-yard shuttle with his effort of 11.58.

Following the timed portion of the events, Binns, Goebel, Guidugli, and Hazelton ran routes and caught passes for the scouts. Playing quarterback for the group was former UC standout Dustin Grutza.

Rogers showcased a strong leg with punting and kicking drills, both inside and outside.

UC opens spring practice on March 28, leading up to Bearcat Bowl V on April 16 and the close of spring football on April 23.
