ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished tied for fourth with Florida Gulf Coast in the rain-shortened 2011 World Golf Village Intercollegiate on Monday, April 4, in St. Augustine, Fla.
The top finisher for the Bearcats was senior Bambee Dela Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College), who fired off rounds of 77-75=152 to finish seventh.
Freshmen Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) and Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) posted rounds of 81-78=159 and 83-76=159 respectively to finish tied for 17th.
Senior Jenny Linville (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) shot rounds of 84-77=161 to finish tied for 24th. Sage Roth (Millersville, Md./Tulane) finished tied for 41st , with rounds of 87-81=168.
The Bearcats shot 325-306=631, tying with Florida Gulf Coast, which shot 314-317=631.
Daytona State College won the team title with rounds of 308-303=611, finishing three shots ahead of second place Stetson (313-301=614).
Daytona State College's Mitsuki Katahira shot three-under 73-68=141 to claim the individual title, followed by Lauren Cate (75-72=147) of Stetson.
The Bearcats will next see action in the BIG EAST Championship April 17-19 in Tampa, Fla.
