CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati baseball team welcomed the RallyCats, a UC student spirit organization, to its Thursday afternoon practice at Marge Schott Stadium.

For the second consecutive year, baseball student-athletes and RallyCats members spent an afternoon of taking batting practice, infield practice and shagging fly balls.

"This is a great opportunity for the Rally Cats to get to know the players and see what type of routine they have so we can better appreciate their baseball talents," said RallyCats president Tiffany George. "It's also a good way for the team to get to know the RallyCats and learn some of our traditions."

Highlighting the batting practice session was a home run by RallyCat member Ryan Frazier, a first year marketing student, who belted a pitch over the left field wall. "I was just looking for a good pitch and trying to make good contact," said Frazier. "It was an absolute missile and something that I can one day tell my children about."

The Bearcats host longtime rival University of Louisville for a three-game BIG EAST series starting with Game 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET Friday at Marge Schott Stadium.

The RallyCats will be in their usual cheering section behind the UC dugout along the third base line. All fans are encouraged to participate in Social Media Weekend, which will give prize opportunities to those in attendance who follow and interact with UC Athletics on Twitter (@GoBEARCATS_com) and Facebook (search University of Cincinnati Bearcats).

The RallyCats organization is focused on having fun through participation in (mainly athletic) events that promote spirit in and at the University of Cincinnati. For more information about the RallyCats, log onto ucrallycats.com.
