WASHINGTON, D.C. - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team lost a 17-2 road decision to No. 18 Georgetown, in BIG EAST Conference action on a rainy Friday at Multi-Sport Field.

For the Bearcats (2-9, 0-3 BIG EAST), it was the team's third-straight game against a ranked opponent. The Hoyas improved to 5-5 overall and 3-0 in BIG EAST play.

Georgetown held the Bearcats scoreless until the six minute mark of the second half. The Hoyas outshot the Bearcats, 38-8, and picked up 19 ground balls to Cincinnati's 15. The Hoyas also pulled in 15 draw controls.

Katie Liberatore and Kylie Ramsland had goals for UC while Katie Kiriazoglou added a pair of assists. Laura Simanski picked up three draw controls, leading the way for Cincinnati.

UC is back in action next weekend with a pair of matches inside Nippert Stadium. The Bearcats take on Villanova Friday at 3 p.m. before facing Rutgers on Sunday at noon. Admission for all matches is free for all fans. Live stats and streaming video will be available on GoBEARCATS.com.
