CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team played United Soccer Leagues Professional club the Dayton Dutch Lions to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening at Gettler Stadium.

The Bearcats, who recorded their first tie of the spring campaign, had a 2-1 lead in the second half, but Dayton scored off a free kick late in the match to pull even.

Tristan Watson got UC on the board first with an unassisted goal 10 minutes into the contest, and Matt Asensio posted his third goal of the spring season off a free kick from Shamar Shelton, his second spring assist, to give the Bearcats a 2-0 lead midway through the first half.

The Dutch Lions notched their first goal of the match off a hard shot from 15 yards out at the end of the first half. UC went into the lockerroom with a 2-1 lead.

Dayton scored the lone goal of the second half late in the match off a free kick to end with the score tied.

Cincinnati will take on Butler in their next spring matchup on Saturday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m. in Indianapolis, Ind.
