CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team defeated Ball State, 5-2, on Friday afternoon at the Western Tennis and Fitness Center.
The Bearcats (9-13) swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Following the doubles matches, UC unveiled new signage to be affixed to the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center in a ceremony with UC head coach Angela Wilson and former Bearcat and tennis legend Tony Trabert.
In singles action, Ksenia Slynko topped Georgina Thomson, 7-5, 6-4, in the No. 1 spot. Jasmine Lee was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Kristel Sanders, while Ashleigh Witte breezed, 6-0, 6-2, against Dana Boulieris. Safiyya Ismail eased past Paola Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-1, to round out the Bearcat winners.
The Bearcats will host DePaul on Sunday, April 17, at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center at 2 p.m. UC will honor seniors Slynko and Lindsey Lonergan prior to the match, the final regular-season match of the season.
