PALM HARBOR, Fla. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team finished seventh at the 2011 BIG EAST Championship on Tuesday at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
The Bearcats were led by 2010 all-BIG EAST golfer Jenny Linville (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West), who fired rounds of 80-75-79=234 to finish in a tie for 12th.
Freshman Olivia Dose (Goteborg, Sweden/Goteborg Hogre Samskola) tied for 17th after rounds of 77-81-80=238 and fellow freshman and Swede Andrea Malek (Tibro, Sweden/Klippans Gymnasieskola) was tied for 29th after posting an 82-85-80=247.
The Bearcats shot 320-325-322=967 to finish nine strokes back of sixth-place Rutgers (312-319-327=958).
Notre Dame (295-297-310=902) captured the team championship by 13 strokes over second-place Louisville (308-302-305=915).
St. John's freshman Harin Lee won the individual BIG EAST title in a playoff with Louisville's Anna-Karin Ljungstrom. Lee (73-69-79=221) and Ljungstrom (76-72-73=221) posted identical five over par scores.
