PALM HARBOR, Fla. - On the strength of a pair of Top-10 finishes, the University of Cincinnati placed sixth at the 2011 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.

Senior Joe Kastelic (Newton, N.C./Fred T. Foard) was in contention the entire tournament, leading after 18 holes thanks to a first-round 69. He finished third with a three-over 69-75-72=216. Sophomore David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) also posted a Top-10 finish with rounds of 73-73-75=221 to place ninth.

Cincinnati's three-round total of 301-303-294=898 was just three shots behind USF (302-300-293=895) and Georgetown (300-308-287=895), who tied for fourth.

Notre Dame's Max Scodro was the individual BIG EAST champion, carding rounds of 70-73-69=212, three under par.

Notre Dame (293-290-293=876) won the team championship by six strokes over second-place Louisville (293-297-292=882).

The Bearcats wrap up the 2011 season with the annual Crosstown Shootout on Tuesday, April 26.
