SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team lost a 20-3 matchup at No. 19 Syracuse Saturday, in BIG EAST Conference action inside the Carrier Dome.
The Bearcats (2-13, 0-7 BIG EAST) trailed 12-1 at the half and struggled to get the offense going all day, losing the shot battle 26-9 to the Orange (7-7, 5-1 BIG EAST).
UC got a pair of goals from Marissa Pierson and a single score from Laura Simanski. Katie Kiriazoglou added two assists. The Bearcats held a 13-12 advantage in draw controls.
Pierson got UC on the board at the 15:11 mark of the first half, cutting into SU's 9-0 lead. UC could not get any momentum and went into the half trailing 12-1.
The second half saw more of the same with Pierson adding her second with 5:34 left in the game and Simanski adding her tally on a free-position shot with 2:05 to go.
