CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati Associate Vice President Anne Chasser has been selected for induction into the International Collegiate Licensing Association (ICLA) Hall of Fame, the organization announced Monday.
Chasser was part of a group of collegiate licensing administrators who founded the Association of Collegiate Licensing Administrators in 1986 and served as its president in 1990. That organization later became the ICLA. Chasser began her career establishing the trademark licensing program at The Ohio State University. She was president of the International Trademark Association and in 1999 was appointed by President Bill Clinton as Commissioner for Trademarks at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C., serving under both President Clinton and President Bush.
Chasser joined UC in the Office of Research in 2005. She served as associate vice president for technology transfer and commercialization until 2010 and now serves as associate vice president for research where she works directly in the Office of Research to identify new opportunities for building new business models for leveraging intellectual property with industry and nonprofit organizations. In June 2010, Chasser co-authored the book, "Brand Rewired: Connecting Branding, Creativity, and Intellectual Property Strategy," published by John Wiley & Co.
Chasser and fellow inductee Derek Eiler of the College Licensing Company will be honored at the ICLA's annual convention in June.
