The University of Cincinnati baseball team will conclude its regular season with a seven-game homestand, beginning with a three-game BIG EAST Conference series against Seton Hall University on May 14 and 15. The first two games will be played on Saturday, with Game 1 set to begin at 1 p.m. Senior RHP Dan Jensen will make his 13th start of the season in Game 1. The second game of the doubleheader will feature Sr. RHP Nick Johnson, who will also be making his 13th start of 2011. The series finale is scheduled for a noon Sunday first pitch, with the game three starter to be announced later. SERIES INFORMATION
-Since 2006, the Bearcats and Pirates have played 12 games.
-Each team owns a 6-6 record in the all-time series.
-Last season, Seton Hall won 2 of 3 against the Bearcats from April 9-11 in South Orange, N.J.
-UC won the series opener 10-9, before dropping the second game 4-1 and the series finale 4-3 in 11 innings.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
-Seton Hall sits at 10-11 in BIG EAST play heading into the weekend, one game behind Cincinnati.
-The Pirates are coming off a three-game sweep of Louisville in which they held the Cardinals scoreless for 28 innings, including an 18-inning 1-0 win on Friday.
-So. RHP Jon Prosinksi won the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week award on Monday after pitching a complete-game shutout May 6 vs. Louisville.
-Freshman OF Zack Granite leads the team in batting average (.298) and runs scored (33).
GETTING OFFENSIVE
-The UC offense has been on a tear in the last 15 games, dating back to April 17 at Rutgers.
-The Bearcats are hitting .327 as a team and have a .398 on-base percentage in that span.
-They've also hit 14 home runs during the 15-game span.
WEEKEND HIGHLIGHTS
-Saturday: Start Skydiving will be jumping into Marge Schott Stadium before Game 1 of the doubleheader. For more information on Start Skydiving, click here ... -Sunday: Children 13 and under are welcome to come down to field following the game to run the bases ... the Cincinnati Zoo will bring Lucy the Bearcat, along with Sam the Bald Eagle to the game.
