CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Men's Soccer team wrapped up its 2011 spring season this week with the annual alumni weekend.

The festivities began with beautiful weather on Saturday for the annual alumni golf outing at Vineyard Golf Club. Forty-four former Bearcats participated in the golf outing along with 90 who attended the reception following.

The events continued on into Sunday with the annual alumni match. The alums got on the board first when Kenny Anaba scored in the 15th minute of the first half. The current Bearcats evened up the score with a Shamar Shelton goal early in the second half. The former Bearcats proved to be too much to handle as the second half wore on. They added to the scoring column with goals from Kwame Sarkodie and Brandon Dobbs to pull away late in the second half with 2010 senior Matt Williams guarding the net. The hard fought match ended with a 4-1 win for the alums. Following the match the current and former Bearcats gathered at Martino's for food and drinks to wrap up the weekend.

This year's alumni weekend proved to be a huge success with the largest alumni turnout in the history of the event. The men's soccer program would like to express its thanks to all the alumni who participated.
