CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati football team's 2011 game against Miami (OH), the 116th Battle for the Victory Bell, will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the RedHawks' Yager Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPN3.
Miami leads the all-time series 59-49-7 but the Bearcats have won each of the past five contests, including road wins at Yager in 2007 and 2009. UC and MU's annual Battle for the Victory Bell is the oldest non-conference rivalry in the United States.
The Bearcats, led by second-year head coach Butch Jones, return 18 starters from the 2010 squad, including unanimous First-Team All-BIG EAST quarterback Zach Collaros (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville), as well as a trio of Second-Team All-BIG EAST honorees in running back Isaiah Pead (Columbus, Ohio/Eastmoor Academy), linebacker J.K. Schaffer (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle), and wide receiver D.J. Woods (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville).
