CLEVELAND - The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team, which spent the last four days training and building team chemistry at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex in Xenia, Ohio, will wrap up its 2011 exhibition schedule on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Cleveland State. The Bearcats and Vikings will kick off at 4 p.m.
Cincinnati opened the 2011 season with a 1-0 win against Bowling Green on Monday in Gettler Stadium.
Highly-touted freshman forward Cole DeNormandie (Lincoln, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional) scored the lone goal on a diving header in the 20th minute to propel the Bearcats.
UC played 20 different players on Monday, including seven true freshmen and three first-year transfers.
Head coach Hylton Dayes will continue to look at a few position battles in the final exhibition contest as the Bearcats prepare for the regular season opener on Saturday, August 27, at Western Michigan.
Cincinnati's home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 9, against Central Arkansas at 7 p.m.
