The University of Cincinnati men's soccer team opens its 2011 campaign with a road date at Western Michigan on Saturday, August 27. Kickoff from the WMU Soccer Complex is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Bearcats posted a 1-0-1 mark in preseason action, defeating Bowling Green, 1-0, in Gettler Stadium on August 15 and drawing with Cleveland State, 1-1, on the road on August 20.

The series between the Bearcats and Broncos is tied, 1-1.
The two teams have not played since the 1987 season.
Cincinnati defeated WMU, 2-1, at home in 1987, with the Broncos earning a 3-2 win in 1986 in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Head coach Hylton Dayes is in his 11th season at Cincinnati and 22nd as a head coach. Dayes holds a 86-78-29 mark at UC and a 182-163-48 overall record.
Dayes is the second winningest coach in UC history, behind only Bob Muro, who posted a 114-111-13 mark in 12 seasons on the Bearcats sideline.
In 2010, UC posted a 7-5-7 overall mark, including a 5-1-3 ledger in BIG EAST play and a second-place BIG EAST Red Division finish. The Bearcats advanced to the BIG EAST Championship semifinals for the first time in program history.
Returning are second-team all-BIG EAST midfielder Matt Bahner (out indefinitely with a knee injury) and all-Ohio selection Roger Thompson.
