There's a packed schedule of home events this week. Here's a look ahead:

  • Men's golf opens up their 2011 fall campaign at the Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W. Va. The Bearcats play all day on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Women's soccer plays away and home this week. The team will travel to Chicago, Ill. for their first BIG EAST game of the season, taking on DePaul. The game kicks off on Friday at 4 p.m. The Bearcats return home to play Notre Dame at Gettler Stadium on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
  • Men's soccer continues their homestead when they host Missouri State and Oakland at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats will look to continue their success when they play Missouri State at 7 p.m. on Friday and Oakland on Sunday at 1 p.m.
  • Volleyball heads out on the road to the BIG EAST/ Big Ten Challenge in Champaign, Ill. The team will play Illinois and Purdue on Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 5:30 p.m., respectively.
  • The football team returns home this week to take on Akron. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Nippert Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 3.
  • Cross Country heads down to Nashville, Tenn., for the Commodore Classic. The meet takes place all day on Saturday.

Catching up on last week's results:

  • Volleyball made their way to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Rainbow Classic. The Bearcats finished the classic in second place after a 2-1 tournament record. The team opened the classic with a 3-0 win against Pacific. This was the first time the Bearcats have beaten Pacific in the programs history. The Bearcats went on the beat Rice 3-2 with sets of 33-35, 18-25, 25-18, 25-17, 15-11. The team broke a school record for most scored points in a five-set match with 116 points. Cincinnati looked to carry their success into their finally game against No. 12 Hawi'I but fell 3-0. Sophomore Emily MacIntyre earned All Tournament honors when she was named to the All Tournament Team. The Bearcats are now 7-4 for the season.
  • Men's Soccer won their home opener with a 3-0 victory over Central Arkansas at Gettler Stadium. Cole DeNormandie, Matt Remaley, and Will Diebold scored the three goals for the Bearcats. The team returned to Gettler Stadium on Sunday, where the team defeated IUPUI, 4-1. Cole DeNormandie and Leon Powell each scored two goals in the gaming, giving them their first career multi-goal games. The team has a record of 3-2-0.
  • Women's Soccer won the College of Charleston Tournament with their victories against College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina. The Bearcats defeated the tournament host 3-2 in double overtime. Jasmine Rhodes scored the game winning goal in 102nd minute on a shot from Mackenzie Grause. The Bearcats went on the beat Coastal Carolina 3-0 to win the tournament. Freshman Mackenzie Grause scored two goals in the game and now leads the Bearcats in goals. The Bearcats are now 4-2-2 for the season.
  • The football team traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. where they fell 45-23 to Tennessee. The Bearcats played in front of a crowd of 94,207 at Tennessee's Neyland Stadium. Isaiah Pead rushed 155 yards on 14 carries to lead the Bearcats. The team is now 1-1 this season.
  • The men's and women's cross country competed in the Queen City Invitational last Friday, where the men's team finished first and the women finished third. Eric Finan broke the course record in the 5,000 meter race in a time of 15:10.91.
