CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team will compete in six states in a challenging 2011-12 schedule announced today by Director of Golf Janet Carl.

The fall season kicks off at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup in Louisville, Ky., on Sept. 19-20 and includes trips to Stage College, Pa. (Penn State Invitational - Oct. 1-2), Las Cruces, N.M. (Price's "Give `Em Five" Intercollegiate - Oct. 10-12), Dayton, Ohio (UD Invitational - Oct. 17-18), and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. (Pat Bradley Invitational - Oct. 23-25).

The spring season is highlighted by the annual UC Spring Invitational, which the Bearcats host during spring break (March 23-25) at the Plantation Inn in Crystal River, Fla. Other events include the Sir Pizza Challenge in Waston, Fla., on Feb. 26-28, Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz., on March 16-18, and the Marsh Landing Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., on April 1-3.

The 2012 BIG EAST Championship is set for April 22-24 at the Reunion Resort and Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

"The fall schedule is a time to test our returning players while mixing in our newcomers and helping them adjust to college golf," said Carl. "The goal of our schedule every year is to be playing our best golf at the end of the year at the BIG EAST Championships."

Returning to the squad this season are a pair of Swedish sophomores who saw extensive action as freshmen last season. Olivia Dose and Andrea Malek will lead the Bearcats in 2011-12, while junior Alex Carl and sophomore transfer Sage Roth also return after solid campaign.

The Bearcats will look to replace all-conference golfer Bambee Dela Paz, who held the team's No. 1 spot for parts of each of the last four seasons. Also gone from last season's team is Jenny Linville, a 2010 all-conference selection and UC's top finisher at the BIG EAST Championship last season (T-12th).

Three newcomers join the ranks, including junior transfer Maria Roos from Mississippi State. Freshmen Mackenzie Moir and Maria Rosselot round out the incoming class.
