Even though the team is already back from Hawai'i, there are still videos to be posted to allow fans (and the team) to relive the experience...
The second full day in Hawai'i proved to be the most packed with things to do. The day started off with the whole team and staff going to the beach.
The beach was called the Outrigger Club and Juliana Behrens and her family belong there. This allowed the girls to try and stand up on a surfboard (which tested the girls' core strength and balance!), go out on different boats, or just lay out in the sun. That night, after leaving the Outrigger Club, the team got cleaned up and head out for a Luau at Paradise Cove. Paradise Cove is a resort that holds this luau every night.
The night was complete with traditional Hawaiian dancing, shops, crafts to make, rituals in the water, and most of all...food! The extensive buffet had everything from fried chicken and salad, to extremely traditional foods like Poi which is a root that is made into a purple liquid-like substance that looks like salad dressing. People just dip their fingers in the liquid and eat it by itself, while others put it over things.
The Bearcats even got a hula lesson during the day and were called on stage that night. Sophomore Brianna Richey was called on stage by a male performer where she was supposed to dance with a smaller group and show off her moves (don't worry this is in the video).
The video attached features juniors Becca Refenes and Megan Turner providing colorful commentary on the day's events and some of the events at the luau that the team participated in, like the hula lesson.
