STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team sits in a 10th-place tie after the first round of the Penn State Nittany Lion Invitational on Friday at the Penn State Blue Course.

The Bearcats posted a first-round total of 316, good for a tie with William & Mary and one shot behind Harvard and Bucknell (315).

Alex Carl was again the top scorer for the Bearcats, firing a first-round 77, which is tied for 25th overall. Andrea Malek (78) is tied for 33rd, while Olivia Dose (79) is 44th.

Longwood teammates Ariel Witmer and Amanda Steinhagen shot matching 71s to tie for the first-round lead.

The second round is set for a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday from the PSU Blue Course.
