Shareese Ulis (Toledo, Ohio/Trinity Valley C.C.) scored 14 points and Bjonee Reaves (San Bernardino, Calif./Neosho County) added 10 for the Bearcats (8-10, 1-5 BIG EAST), who dropped their fourth straight.
After the Bearcats tied the game at 6-6 with 15:30 left in the first half, the Cardinals embarked on a 31-2 run over the next 13-plus minutes to take a 37-8 lead with under three minutes to play.
Louisville took a 39-13 lead into the half.
UC shot 14.8 percent (4-for-27) in the first half and committed 12 turnovers. Louisville hit on 46 percent from the floor in the stanza and scored 22 points off UC miscues.
The Bearcats shot 46 percent in the second half and turned the ball over just six times, but the deficit was too great to overcome.
Louisville won the rebounding battle, 36-32. Jeanise Randolph (Calumet City, Ill./Thornton Fractional North) and Tiffany Turner (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) grabbed eight caroms each for UC.
Cook, whose career high had been 15, which she reached on three occasions, shot 7-of-12 from the floor and 3-of-7 from three-point range. She added five rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Ulis surpassed the 600-point plateau for her career. She now has 610 points in just 47 career games as a Bearcat (13.0 points per game).
The Bearcats return to Fifth Third Arena on Tuesday, Jan. 25, when they welcome No. 13/18 DePaul for a 7 p.m. tip.
