CINCINNATI - In its lone tune-up prior to the start of the 2011-12 season, the University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team is hosting its 23rd annual pentathlon meet 6 p.m. Friday at Keating Aquatics Center.
In addition to the pentathlon, the Bearcat Swimming & Diving Alumni meet will also be held at Keating at 6 p.m. All former Bearcat swimmers and divers are encouraged to attend.
The pentathlon will feature members of the men's and women's teams competing in five events. The events are scored and a winner is announced for each team.
Senior Liz Hansson (Lund, Sweden/School of St. Petri) won the event last season on the women's side and is looking to repeat. Nathan Williams won the championship in the men's division.
The Bearcats open the season Oct. 21 when they take on cross-town rival Xavier University at 6 p.m. at Keating Aquatics Center.
