The University of Cincinnati celebrates this week's Special Double Edition of Bearcat Friday!

First, the Bearcat mascot took a trip to The University of Cincinnati's Blue Ash campus to spread school spirit and get everyone excited about the Homecoming game against Louisville. Students and faculty stopped by the Muntz Hall lobby in between classes where they were greeted by the Bearcat himself. This was the first year for the Homecoming Pep Rally and it was a huge success. Students played games, ate popcorn and took pictures with the Bearcat, as the UC fight song roared through the halls and pumped everyone up for the game this weekend.

"It was awesome to have the Bearcat on the UC Blue Ash College campus to help us celebrate UC's Rivercity Homecoming: Bearcat Style. Our students and alumni really enjoyed his antics and he truly brought that UC spirit to our campus. Thanks to the mascot, our UCBA Mini Pep Rally was a lot of fun and a wonderful experience for the students and faculty! We can't wait to have him back on campus again!" said Gwen Dean, Program Coordinator at UCBA.

UCBA, a regional campus of the University of Cincinnati, is located on 135 wooded acres in the heart of Blue Ash. UCBA, formerly known as Raymond Walters, opened in 1967 and now offers more than 60 associate degrees and certificate programs. UCBA is an open admission institution, providing access to higher education to anyone that has a high school diploma. For more information regarding UC Blue Ash, please visit their website.

Secondly, the Bearcat and the UC Cheer team visited the Rookwood Commons Old Navy where they spent time with employees and customers to share some Bearcat spirit.

"Hosting the University of Cincinnati Cheerleaders and the Bearcat in our Hyde Park store was great. Our customers and employees thoroughly enjoyed the "Bearcats Trivia" and their team spirit! We appreciate the school's support of our Superfan Nation product and hope to have the cheerleaders and mascot back again soon," said Matthew Grube, Service and Training Manager at Old Navy.

How Does Bearcat Friday Work?
Sponsored by the UC Department of Athletics, UC Office of Trademarks, and the UC Alumni Association, Bearcats fans can participate in the fun and show support by signing up and wearing UC gear on Fridays throughout the academic year. In addition to competing against other participating groups to show your colors with pride, registering will make you eligible to win prizes for your group and maybe even get a visit from the Bearcat himself.

Please register your business/group here. Businesses will be selected to participate in Bearcats Friday and will be contacted if chosen.

Your business/group will receive a sign to display showing your support to our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and that you are a proud member of Bearcats Nation!
