BAHA CALIFORNIA, Mexico - University of Cincinnati junior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) shot a 4-over par 75 Friday to slip into a tie for 25th place at 6-over par 73-75=148 following second-round play at the Cabo Collegiate at the Club Compestre Golf Course.
Tepe is tied with three other players, 12 shots behind tournament leader Sebastian Cappelen of Arkansas at 6-under par 136.
The Razorbacks continue to lead the team standings in the 12-squad field with an 11-under 557 team score. UC is 12th with a 312-310=622 score through two rounds.
Final-round action begins Saturday at 11 a.m. ET.
Freshman Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) carded the best round of the day by a Bearcat with a 2-over 73 Friday. Wolfe is tied for 47th place at 80-73=153. Junior Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) is in 57th place at 78-79=157. Freshman Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) is tied for 62nd place at 81-83=164. Junior Zach Bates (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) is 64th at 82-84=166.
