Complete list of Scholar Athletes
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati track and field athlete Ryan Beltz (Brownsburgh, Ind./Wapakoneta) and lacrosse player MacKenzie Parsons (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) have been named the Department of Athletics top scholar-athletes of the spring quarter after both individuals earned perfect 4.0 grade point averages (GPA).
A total of 17 student-athletes, representing each of UC's sports, were named scholar-athletes of the quarter and the contingent will have their photos added to the Academic Wall of Fame just outside the Nancy Hamant Academic Center on the fifth floor of the Richard E. Lindner Center.
In addition to Beltz and Parsons, cross country runners Brian Berling (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder), Courtney Hentz (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry), football player Alex Delisi (Clarkston, Mich./St. Mary's Prep), women's golfer Bambee Del Paz (Caloocan City, Philippines/Miriam College), women's swimmer Melody Smith (Williamsburgh, Ohio/Milford), tennis player Kseniya Slynko (Odessa, Ukraine/Odessa), women's track and field athlete Boudine Bouma (Purmerend, The Netherlands/DaVinci College), and volleyball player Julie Guenther (Fairfield, Ohio/Hamilton Badin) all earned 4.0 GPAs during the spring quarter.
A total of 255 student-athletes were named to either the Topcat or the Bearcat Honor Roll. To qualify for the Topcat Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have earned a grade point average between a 3.5 and a 4.0 GPA, while Bearcat honorees must maintain, between 3.0 and 3.49 for the quarter.
