CINCINNATI - Junior Jordanne Scott (Indianapolis, Ind. /Lawrence North) has been named the COBRA Magazine 2011 Midwest Region Player of the Year.
The right side hitter was named to the magazine's 2011 All-Midwest Region team after leading the Bearcats to the first BIG EAST tournament title in program history. This championship was also the first for any Cincinnati team.
This year's honor also puts Scott in the running for COBRA Magazine's National Player of the Year.
Scott now leads the team in kills, kills per set and hitting percentage going into the NCAA tournament. She has recorded 438 kills, 3.48 per set and a .321 hitting percentage on the year so far.
The junior was named to the magazine's All-Region team in 2010 and the pre-season All-National team this year. Scott was also featured in the latest issue of the magazine. To download the December issue of COBRA magazine, click here.
Scott and the Bearcats will learn their post-season fate tonight, November 27, at 6:00 p.m. when ESPNU airs the NCAA selection show.
