CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team dropped a 57-43 decision against Providence on Saturday (Feb. 19) afternoon in Fifth Third Arena.

Freshman Jeanise Randolph (Calumet City, Ill./Thornton Fractional North) posted her second career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and classmate Kayla Cook (South Webster, Ohio/South Webster) added a team-high 13 points and seven caroms for the Bearcats (8-17, 1-12 BIG EAST).

Teya Wright scored a game-high 14 points and 18 rebounds to lead three Friars (12-13, 5-8) in double figures. Symone Roberts chipped in 11 points and Lola Wells added 10.

With the game tied at 12 midway through the first half, the Bearcats scored five straight points to take a 17-12 lead with 10:41 to play, UC's largest lead.

Providence then outscored the Bearcats, 17-7, for the remainder of the half to take a five-point lead into the half.

The Friars opened the second stanza with a 14-3 run to push the lead to 43-27 at the 10:52 mark. PC's largest lead came with 4:39 to go when it led 53-34.

Bjonee Reaves (San Bernardino, Calif./Neosho County) scored nine points and Shareese Ulis (Toledo, Ohio/Trinity Valley C.C.) added eight. Ulis hit on 2-of-6 from three-point range and has hit a triple in every game this season and 27 straight games dating to last season.

Randolph, who scored a career-high 20 points in her last game at Villanova, has hit on 15 of her last 19 shots from the floor.

The Bearcats shot just 27 percent from the field and were outrebounded, 39-29. PC scored 20 second-chance points and shot 40 percent from the floor for the game.

UC will wrap up a two-game homestand on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. against Syracuse in Fifth Third Arena.
