CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati junior middle blocker Jordanne Scott (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) has been named to COBRA Magazine's All-National First Team.
Scott was also named the magazine's Midwest Regional Player of the Year in November.
Scott led the Bearcats in kills (482) and kills per set (3.54) while hitting .319 in 2011 and averaged 0.82 blocks per set. She helped the Bearcats a 27-10 mark, the program's first BIG EAST Tournament Championship and a fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. Scott was a unanimous first-team all-BIG EAST selection and AVCA honorable mention all-American this season.
Scott has been named to the COBRA Magazine all-National teams three straight seasons, having earned second-team honors in 2009 and 2010.
COBRA Magazine celebrates the success of African-American volleyball players in hopes of showing young black girls that they have opportunities to thrive in the sport despite cultural differences and economic disadvantages.
