CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's basketball team (9-6, 0-2 BIG EAST) travels to No. 10 Rutgers (12-2, 1-0 BIG EAST) for its first conference road matchup of the season on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on the BIG EAST Network and can be watched here. Bearcats Against the Scarlet Knights
Cincinnati has never beaten Rutgers, as the Scarlet Knights hold the 7-0 series advantage. The two teams last met on Jan. 15, 2011, when graduated senior Shareese Ulis scored a game-high 20 points, but the Bearcats were still defeated, 55-44, by Rutgers at Fifth Third Arena.
Last Time Out
Dayeesha Hollins scored a game-high 22 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team was defeated by the USF Bulls, 58-55, on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Fifth Third Arena.
After shooting 50 percent (13-26) in the first half, the Bearcats lost a 31-27 halftime lead by shooting just 34 percent (9-26) in the second stanza. Chanel Chisholm carried UC in the final minutes, but the Bearcats still saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.
Chisholm and Tiffany Turner were among UC's other double-digit scorers, who pitched in 13 and 10 points, respectively.
Scouting the Scarlet Knights
The Scarlet Knights are currently on a three-game win streak following a 55-44 victory over Syracuse in their BIG EAST opener. Senior guard April Sykes paced RU with 14 points, while senior guard Khadijah Rushdan added 13 points as Rutgers improved 12-5 all-time in conference openers.
On the season, Sykes is the Scarlet Knights' leading scorer with 14.9 points per game, while Monique Oliver is the team's leading rebounder with 8.3 boards per game, followed by Sykes with 5.7.
Rutgers is limiting opponents to 52.9 points per game which ranks 33rd in the country. RU is also 11th nationally in field goal percentage defense (.322).

UC hosts No. 3 Notre Dame on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena as part of a double-header with the UC men's basketball team, who plays Villanova at noon. It is 'Ring of Red' day, as fans are encouraged to wear red in support of the Bearcats. The first 250 fans will receive a red Bearcats t-shirt.
