CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team welcomes Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. and BIG EAST foe Syracuse on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. in the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Bearcats fell to 0-3 after dropping their home opener on Jan. 27 to Bowling Green (6-1). Junior Jasminie Lee improved to 1-2 in singles play after securing Cincinnati's lone win of the evening against the Falcons. Lee and Sophomore Asleigh Witte now lead the Beacats with one win apiece in singles play early in the season.
Indiana is 3-1 after sweeping a double header over Western Michigan and Butler, winning both matches 7-0. Against Butler in the evening match, Indiana's Alecia Kauss and Shannon Murdy both won in straight sets to earn the 7-0 team win for the Hoosiers.
In Cincinnati's second BIG EAST match of the season they will take on Syracuse, who is 2-2 after sweeping Buffalo 7-0 on Jan. 29. The Orange breezed through singles play against the Bulls by winning all six matches in straight sets. Syracuse will visit Ohio State on Saturday before heading south to take on the Bearcats.
