CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision against Syracuse in its BIG EAST home opener on Sunday afternoon at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.

The Orange (3-3) took the doubles point, sweeping the matches by scores of 8-5, 8-1 and 8-1.

Carly Wilson took an early lead in the first set before falling 6-4, and later 6-1 in the second set, to Syracuse's Amanda Rodgers.

Each Bearcat fell in straight sets with Jasmine Lee falling 6-2, 6-1 to Emily Harman and Kristina Georgieva dropping a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Maddie Kobelt.

Ashleigh Witte also dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Komal Safdar while Safiyya Ismail fell 6-1, 6-3 to Breanna Bachini.

Sierra Sullivan dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to SU's Alessondra Parra.

The Bearcats (0-5) return to action on Friday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. when they welcome Memphis to the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
