CLINTON, S.C. - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team (2-1) scored a program-best 20 goals in its 20-16 defeat of Presbyterian (0-2) on Sunday afternoon at Old Bailey Stadium. Junior captain Katie Kiriazoglou (Abingdon, Md./John Carroll) also set an individual career-best with six goals.

PC opened the scoring in the first minute of play, but MacKenzie Parsons (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) tied it up with 21:27 on the clock, then assisted on a Marissa Pierson (Sykesville, Md./Century) goal one minute later to give UC its first lead. The Blue Hose knotted it up once more, but back-to-back goals by Pierson and Laura Simanski (Reisterstown, Md./Roland Park) just 42 seconds apart forced PC to take a timeout down, 4-2. After the regroup, Presbyterian scored the next two-straight goals to tie it at 4-4 with just under 12 minutes remaining.

It was tied two more times, while both teams alternated scoring goals nearly every minute before the Bearcats increased the lead to 9-6 with 5:15 on the clock. The Blue Hose came within two, but Megan Bell (Baltimore, Md./Hereford) scored with five ticks remaining in the half to give UC the 10-7 lead at the break.

Presbyterian scored two goals in a span of 31 seconds to start the second half, but couldn't come any closer as Cincinnati continued to one-up the hosts. The Bearcats pushed its lead to a game-high five, 20-15, with 2:48 remaining before cruising to its second-straight victory, 20-16.

UC outshot PC, 36-27, and held the advantage in draw controls, 26-12. Goalkeeper Jennifer Walsh finished with 10 saves, while Samantha Arey and Jamie Carlson shared time in the net for Presbyterian, combining for nine saves.
