Fifth-seed Georgetown (23-7) advanced to the quarterfinals on Wednesday after defeating No. 13-seed Pittsburgh 64-52. Cincinnati (22-9) received a double bye to the quarterfinal round.

The Bearcats and Hoyas have never met in the BIG EAST Championship. The series is tied 5-5 overall. UC has won the last three meetings, including a 68-64 decision on Jan. 9 in Washington, D.C. UC's sophomore guard Sean Kilpatrick scored a career-high 27 points and the Bearcats made six consecutive free throws in the final 70 seconds to secure the win.

The Bearcats are 3-5 all-time in the BIG EAST Championship, and are looking to advance to the semi-final round for the first time. UC has advanced to the quarterfinal round each of the past two seasons.
