TALLAHASSE, Fla. - University of Cincinnati junior Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) is tied for 24th place after earning an even par 71 after the first round of the Seminole Intercollegiate at Southwood Country Club.
Desmarais is six shots behind Friday's leader Jeff Karlsson of Kennesaw State, who earned a 6-under par 71.
Following the first round, host Florida State and 8th ranked Georgia Tech are tied for first place with a 6-under par 285. Cincinnati finished the round in 10th place with a 291.
Leading the rest of the Bearcats, junior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) is tied for 30th at 1-over par 71. Freshman Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) carded a 73 to end the day tied for 42nd. Freshman Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) earned a 4-over par 71 and is tied for 62nd place. Junior Matt Ledom (Leawood, Kan./Rockhurst Jesuit Prep) withdrew from first-round play.
