Bearcats 12th After First Round of Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. - The University of Cincinnati women's golf team is 12th after the first round of the Clover Cup, held on Friday at the Longbow Golf Club.

Maria Roos led the Bearcats with a first-round 78. She is tied for 46th after 18 holes. Olivia Dose shot 79 to tie for 52nd, while Andrea Malek was two shots back in a tie for 58th after firing an opening-round 81. Alex Carl shot 85 to tie for 67th and Mackenzie Moir is 69th after a first-round 86.

The Bearcats posted a 323. The tournament , Colorado, posted a first-round 277, 11 under par. Host Notre Dame is second, 11 shots back at 288.

Colorado's Emily Talley shot an opening-round 66 to take the individual lead. Notre Dame's Ashley Armstrong is second after firing a 67 over the first 18 holes.

The Bearcats will tee off for second-round action at 10:24 a.m. ET.
