CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior midfielder Rachel Mercier (Catonsville, Md./Chapelgate Christian Academy) continued her goal-scoring streak as the UC lacrosse team (3-7, 0-3 BIG EAST) was defeated by No. 14 Georgetown (7-4, 3-1 BIG EAST) 22-4 on Thursday afternoon at Nippert Stadium. Mercier finished with two points on one goal and one assist.
GU scored the first eight goals of the contest before giving up its first goal with 17:10 on the clock. The rest of the game was all Hoyas, as the Bearcats could not overcome Georgetown's offense, which outshot UC, 32-9.
The Bearcats travel for a pair of games next weekend. Cincinnati takes on Villanova on Friday, April 13 at 4 p.m. followed by a meeting with Rutgers on Sunday, April 15 at 12 p.m.
