The University of Cincinnati celebrates this week's Bearcat Friday Winner!
The University of Cincinnati Athletic Department developed a way for campus offices and businesses around the country to join in on the fun and show their Bearcat spirit!
This week's Bearcat Friday Winner is Start Skydiving. The Bearcat mascot took a trip to Start Skydiving in Middletown on Friday, April 13 and decided to take his chances jumping out of a plane at nearly 13,000 feet. The mascot was greeted by John Hart II, DZ Owner, Coach and AFF Instructor, who encouraged him to skydive. The Bearcat watched the safety video, put on his harness and was given a short tutorial by the instructor on how to successful jump out of a plane. After exiting the plan at nearly 13,000 feet, the Bearcat experienced a 50 second free fall followed by a 4 minute canopy ride, arriving smoothing into the landing area.
Start Skydiving is the number one place to skydive in the world by dropzone.com. For more information, please visit their website at www.startskydiving.com
How Does Bearcat Friday Work?
Sponsored by the UC Department of Athletics, UC Office of Trademarks, and the UC Alumni Association, Bearcats fans can participate in the fun and show support by signing up and wearing red and black on Fridays throughout the academic year. In addition to competing against other participating groups to show off your Bearcat spirit with pride, registering will make you eligible to win prizes for your group and maybe even get a visit from the Bearcat himself.
Register your business/group by clicking here. Random businesses will be selected to participate in Bearcats Friday and will be contacted if chosen.
Your business/group will receive a sign to display showing your support to our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and that you are a proud member of Bearcats Nation!
For more information on how you can be a part of Bearcat Fridays, please contact Carla Lopez in the UC Marketing/Fan Development Office at 513-556-1081.
