CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati posted a 3-0 shutout win against IUPUI on Sunday afternoon in Gettler Stadium.

The Bearcats got started early with a goal by BIG EAST all-freshman honoree Cole DeNormandie just eight minutes into the match. DeNormandie took a through ball, split the center backs and beat the IUPUI keeper to make it 1-0.

UC doubled its lead in the 25th minute as 2010 second-team all-BIG EAST selection Matt Bahner cut into the middle of the field and ripped a shot from 25 yards out to make it 2-0.

The Bearcats added a third in the 39th minute when Leon Powell ran onto a ball that was played in behind the defense. He used a touch to move around the keeper and tap in the third goal.

Taylor Hafling made a pair of saves in goal to help UC to its first shutout of the spring.

The Bearcats welcome Kentucky to Gettler Stadium on Friday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the annual Blue Chip Showcase. Admission is free.
