CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati men's golf team will compete in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind., April 21-22. The two-day, 54-hole tournament hosted by Ball State University begins with two rounds of play on Saturday followed by final-round action on Sunday. The shotgun starts tee off at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., respectively.

Along with Cincinnati and Ball State, 13 other schools will compete in the event: Austin Peay, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, DePaul, Eastern Kentucky, Louisville, SIU-Edwardsville, Ohio, Valparaiso, Vincennes, Wright State and Youngstown State.

Representing the Bearcats will be freshmen Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) and Mike Irwin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), juniors David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) and Andrew Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) and senior Kurt Harris (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome). Of the six golfers competing for UC, the five lowest scores will be counted each round.

"I feel good about the work ethic of our players," head coach Doug Martin said. "They have a strong desire to get better and anytime you work as hard as these guys do the results will come. I've been very impressed with the work ethic of our freshmen."

Tepe led the Bearcats in their last tournament, finishing tied for 28th with a 10-over par 226 at the Columbia Orthopaedic Group Mizzou Intercollegiate on April 9-10.
