MUNCIE, Ind. - University of Cincinnati junior David Tepe (Liberty Township, Ohio/Lakota East) ranks tied for ninth through two rounds at the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational after firing a 5-over par 75-70=145 Saturday. The two-day tournament hosted by Ball State University is taking place at the Delaware Country Club (Par 70, 6,438 yards).

Tepe will begin the final round Sunday seven strokes behind tournament leader Chris Malec of Louisville, who posted a 2-under par 70-68=138.

The Bearcats stand in eighth place in the team standings after carding a 385-370=755. Louisville leads the 13-team field after recording a 362-355=717, maintained their lead throughout the day. Host Ball State finished Saturday in second place at 374-364=738.

UC freshman Jared Howard (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) earned a 77-74=151 score and will start the final round tied for 28th. Tied for 47th, classmate Michael Wolf (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) finished at 76-77=153. Freshman Mike Irwin and junior Andrew Desmarais are in a five-way tie for 50th place. Irwin (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) shot two rounds at 7-over par 77-77=154. Improving after the first round, Desmarais (Union, Ky./Ryle) moved up 30 spots to finish at 82-72=154. Senior Kurt Harris (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) ended the opening rounds in 80th place (80-82=162).

The top five golfers count toward the Bearcats' team score.

Final-round action begins Sunday at 9 a.m. ET.
